The cottage has 2 airy stables, one 12 x 12, one 12 x 16, on a concrete
yard. Feed is kept in the cart lodge, and saddles in the utility area
in the cottage. There is room to park a lorry or trailer on the yard,
with further adjacent parking if preferred. We provide tools, haynets
and feed buckets. Hay wrapping is disposed off in the grey lidded
bin provided. Soiled bedding and dung needs to be spread in the neighbouring
woodland. I will be on hand at arrival to show you this.
We have a small turn out paddock at the front of the house, to allow
horses to roll, sunbathe and stretch their legs. This needs to be regularly
poo-picked in order to keep it in good condition and free of parasites.
If your visit is in summer there can be quite a lot of insects and we
recommend strong fly spray to protect especially susceptible horses.
On the paddock there is some mixed vegetation including bracken. We have
not had problems with our own horses but we are working to control it.
We supply hay and shavings.
Please leave the stables and yard neat and tidy for our next guests.
Enjoy your stay and fantastic hacking! |
